Blanket Fort
Inspired by Guide/Scout camp blankets, achievement patches and craftivism, the project is a collective work which is intended to be both protective and comforting.
The theme can be interpreted however participants wish - resisting the urge to give in to negative feelings is still resistance! Any activism, recycling, or choices you’ve made intending to care for yourself in the face of adversity or make the world a better place deserves celebrating! Even writing with biro on a piece of old t-shirt counts… you don’t have to be a highly skilled crafter in the slightest.
It’s meant to represent all of us pulling roughly in the same direction - for progress, justice - and to remind each other that we comprise the fabric of society! It’s easy to feel like we can’t make a difference, but you have an invisible army alongside you.
Sort of like Tracey Emin’s “Everyone I’ve ever slept with” tent, but “Everyone I’ve ever stood in solidarity with” instead!
